As the first point of contact for visitors & callers, the Receptionist plays a vital role in creating a welcoming and hospitable environment in person and via the telephone. This role supports the overall mission of the ministry by demonstrating excellence in communication and offering compassionate assistance to all who enter our doors. The Receptionist works collaboratively with all ministry departments to ensure an exceptional experience for every guest.                                                  
Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities including but not limited to:
  • Welcomes on-site visitors, determines the nature of business, and announces visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Operates multiline telephone system to answer incoming calls and directs callers to appropriate personnel by performing the following duties.
  • Answer, screen, and direct phone calls in a courteous and efficient manner
  • Manage front desk email and incoming inquiries, responding or forwarding as appropriate
  • Retrieves messages from voicemail and forwards to appropriate personnel.
  • Answers incoming telephone calls, determines purpose of callers, and forwards calls to appropriate personnel or department.
  • Takes and delivers messages or transfers calls to voicemail when appropriate personnel are not available.
  • Answers questions about organization and provides callers with address, directions, and other information.
  • Monitors visitor access and issues passes when required.
  •    Provide general administrative support including, data entry, and light correspondence
  •   Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

Basic Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand how to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required; Associates preferred
  • Minimum 1–2 years of receptionist or administrative experience (church or nonprofit experience a plus)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic office equipment
  • Comfortable with technology and willing to learn software systems
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not required

Schedule:
  • In person, 8-hour shift, 9am – 5pm
  • Monday to Friday
